They cannot wait to get outside and start using the new gear and incorporating the equipment into our daily practice sessions, focusing on proper hitting mechanics and hand-eye coordination. The batting tees help each player work on their stance and swing path individually, while the wiffle ball machine allow us to create fun, fast-paced drills that keep everyone engaged.\r\n\r\nThese new resources truly elevate our program and given our students more opportunities to develop as both athletes and teammates. Moving forward, we plan to use the equipment to run skill-building challenges and mini-games that reinforce teamwork and perseverance. Thanks to your generosity, our players are more motivated than ever and proud to represent their school with the tools they need to succeed.","fullyFundedDate":1746786503898,"projectUrl":"project/help-our-team-develop-as-elite-student-a/9068805/","projectTitle":"Help Our Team Develop As Elite Student-Athletes","teacherDisplayName":"Coach Ortiz","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9901143"},{"teacherId":2212593,"projectId":8890738,"letterContent":"I cannot thank you enough for your generous donation of new binders for our students! These binders have been a game-changer—helping them organize their Theatre class reference materials, classwork, assessments, and - most importantly, their scripts.\r\nAs you can imagine, working with stapled scripts in a rehearsal full of adolescents and teenagers is pure chaos—pages take flight, scenes mysteriously disappear, and suddenly, half the cast is improvising because their lines are lost to the abyss. Thanks to you, we now have structured, well-prepared students instead of a flurry of loose-leaf disasters!\r\nBeyond the practicality, our students were thrilled to receive something new rather than the worn-out, mismatched binders I've been recycling for years (which, let's be honest, I never had enough of anyway). Your generosity has not only brought order to our rehearsals but also joy to our students.\r\nThank you for making such a meaningful impact—we are truly grateful!","fullyFundedDate":1730479777432,"projectUrl":"project/i-have-many-theatre-students-in-need-of/8890738/","projectTitle":"I Have Many Theatre Students in Need of Binders","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Culver","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2212593_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y393&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1655310443549","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2212593"},{"teacherId":9729374,"projectId":8991152,"letterContent":"These resources are making a tremendous impact in my classroom and helping my students in ways I couldn't have imagined.\r\n\r\nThe iPad has become an essential communication tool for my students, many of whom have difficulty expressing themselves verbally. With the iPad, they are able to use specialized apps that allow them to communicate more effectively. Whether through picture-based systems, speech-generating software, or simple touch-based interactions, the iPad has opened up new avenues for my students to express their thoughts, needs, and emotions. \r\n\r\nIn addition to the iPad, the sensory toys have been invaluable in helping my students stay engaged and focused during sessions. They provide much-needed sensory input, which helps my students remain calm and more ready to learn, enabling them to get the most out of their therapy time.\r\n\r\nThanks to your kindness, my students are making remarkable progress in their ability to communicate and interact with the world around them. This helped me give the 28 students enrolled in my AP U.S. Government & Politics class a great start to the year. It may seem like a small thing to some, but having every single student start with binders, paper and dividers on the same day made a huge difference! We spent a good amount of time getting the binders organized and decorating them with personalized stickers. I even had to teach my students how to write and insert the divider tabs because most had never used them before! We had some good laughs and it helped everyone feel prepared to tackle the challenges that lay ahead. \r\n\r\nI am proud to say that not a single one of the 28 students has chosen to drop the course despite its rigors. The average grade in the class is higher than ever and I can't help but attribute this, in part, to the fact that everyone has the necessary materials for the course! When it came time to crack open their personal pocket Constitutions, the students were very excited to dive in! So far we have made it through the preamble (some students are working to memorize it, although this is not required,) and Article I. We will continue reading it in the new year and then get started on the test prep books as well. \r\n\r\nI am so grateful the support my students and I have received as a result of this project. It means so much to know that people are willing to invest in their learning in this way.","fullyFundedDate":1726658237680,"projectUrl":"project/deep-dive-into-democracy/8580514/","projectTitle":"Deep Dive into Democracy!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Silas","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5816704_orig.jpg?crop=894,894,x0,y65&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1720549540968","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5816704"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_62864","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":720,"numTeachers":50,"percentFrplEligible":85,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":31,"percentWhite":3,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":60,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"7 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"14.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":64.5,"schoolId":62864,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about English High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"English High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/massachusetts/boston-public-schools/english-high-school/62864"}
