A world language class needs to be more than just "repeat after me" textbook activities in order to be effective. With the Google Cardboard viewer headset my students can step right into most Latin American destinations they only read about such as a beautiful Costa Rican beach or the mountains of Machu Picchu! "Loteria" and other board games help to make Spanish so much more fun and let students feel less afraid to use the language as their greatest concern is winning! As a Native-Speaking Spanish teacher I am a firm believer that language and culture are closely intertwined. I feel the items I've chosen will help my students actually speak Spanish rather than learn about Spanish.
