There are now enough mallets and usable rhythm sticks for the whole class to enjoy. During an activity where students shared their own rhythm compositions by performing them, the students were able to use the new rhythm sticks. In the younger grade levels, students enjoyed the new mallets when playing wood blocks, glockenspiels, and xylophones, and there were no complaints about how a student did not receive a turn playing one because there were not enough mallets.\r\n\r\nI look forward to the students continuing to use the mallets and rhythm sticks, including lessons where they can teach each other songs and rhythms using the knowledge and skills they learned in music class. Thank you so much for helping shape the musical lives of the students at our school. The students being able to see the words and pictures as I read has made them become more engaged during Read Aloud. I am able to ask them questions and interact more while reading. The students are able to track the words as I am reading, both top to bottom of the page and left to right.\r\n\r\nIn addition to using the document camera for Read Aloud, I have been able to use the camera during our Connect Lessons, Fast Focus, and some Science lessons. I am able to show sorting examples, counting lessons, tower building, and compare and contrast lessons. These lessons are much easier for the students to see using the camera projecting on our smart board.","fullyFundedDate":1764687610569,"projectUrl":"project/storytime-up-close-sparking-a-love-of-r/9786862/","projectTitle":"Storytime Up Close: Sparking a Love of Reading!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Scafone","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9658494_orig.jpg?crop=360,360,x0,y208&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723862000668","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9658494"},{"teacherId":581537,"projectId":9816624,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous support, our Pre-K and kindergarten students now have access to a small but incredibly meaningful resource: clean socks and underwear when unexpected accidents happen. Through hands-on service, they are learning the importance of community responsibility while directly meeting urgent needs within our local homeless population and homeless veterans. Students took ownership of this project by thoughtfully assembling 180 backpacks filled with food, hygiene products, and clothing items, understanding that these basic necessities can provide comfort and dignity during difficult times. Each backpack represents far more than supplies; it represents hope, respect, and a reminder that someone cares and sees their worth. By expanding the project to include homeless veterans, students also gained a deeper appreciation for service, sacrifice, and gratitude.
