We started the unit by experimenting with different printmaking techniques. Students then planned out their designs, practiced printing on paper, and finally created garments as a celebration of their time in art class and all they'd learned. \r\n\r\nAs soon as they saw the materials and understood what we were using them for, students were overjoyed. The idea of making an artwork that they could wear excited them! It was amazing to see the joy they had for the art making process. \r\n\r\nIn the future, I hope that this will be a yearly project to celebrate the progress of our graduating 5th graders.
