When students opened their new Play-doh, I heard comments such as \"so cool,\" \"ooooooh!,\" and \"so soft.\" The Really Good Stuff over-the-chair seat pouches have helped students organize their math books/materials and maximize learning time. Some students said that having the seat pouches made them feel \"like the other [kindergarten] classes.\" One boy even broke out into a spontaneous dance after receiving his seat pouch and two of his friends joined his celebration by dancing with him! The carpet and bean bag chair for our classroom library have made students excited about reading there! Students now have a defined, cozy space for enjoying books as do their grade-level peers in other classrooms. Students marvelled that the carpet was \"so soft\" and couldn't stop touching it after we opened it. They also unanimously agreed that the bean bag chair would go to the left of the carpet! Finally, students absolutely love sitting in the wobbly flexible seating chair. Students have named the chair \"Mr. Wobbles\" and absolutely love it when it's their turn to take a one-on-one assessment with me at the small-group table where it lives. Again, thank you so very much for your generous donations to our classroom!","fullyFundedDate":1733224038169,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-sweet-classroom/8693667/","projectTitle":"Classroom Sweet Classroom!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Harris","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9700745"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_64737","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":509,"numTeachers":50,"percentFrplEligible":67,"percentAsian":5,"percentBlack":7,"percentWhite":5,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":79,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"10.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":62.1,"schoolId":64737,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Highland Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Highland Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/maryland/montgomery-county-public-schools/highland-elementary-school/64737"}
