This particular project focused on providing the essential materials and resources our students need every single day. The gift cards you purchased were truly transformative because they allowed us to create an ample amount of meaningful work for students to complete daily, supported by repeated instruction and hands-on practice.\r\n\r\nWith the gift cards, we were able to purchase instructional materials, print resources, manipulatives, and supplies that directly align with our student's needs. Instead of stretching limited materials across multiple groups, we now have enough practice pages, task cards, and hands-on activities for consistent daily reinforcement. Repeated instruction is key in our classroom. Many of our students need multiple opportunities to practice a skill before mastering it. Because of your support, we can provide structured review, small-group reteaching, and independent practice without worrying about running out of copies or materials.\r\n\r\nOne of the most exciting additions has been the velcro dots for reusable activities. This may sound simple, but it has made a huge difference. We have created interactive matching boards, sorting activities, sentence-building tasks, and math practice mats that students can use again and again. Instead of completing a worksheet once and moving on, students can physically manipulate pieces, make corrections, and repeat activities for reinforcement. This hands-on approach increases engagement and helps concepts \"stick.\" Students love being able to touch, move, and build their answers, and the reusable format allows us to maximize learning opportunities every day.\r\n\r\nThe Life Saver treats you provided for celebrations have also had a meaningful impact. While academics are our focus, building a positive classroom community is equally important. Celebrating small victories—meeting a reading goal, improving math fluency, demonstrating kindness—motivates students in powerful ways. The Life Saver treats have become a fun and memorable symbol of achievement. Students light up when they earn one, and it reinforces that their hard work truly matters. These small celebrations boost confidence and create a joyful learning environment.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, the tissues you supplied have been incredibly helpful during the cold season. When students are comfortable and cared for, they are better able to focus on learning. Having an ample supply of tissues may seem like a small detail, but it prevents disruptions and ensures that we can maintain a healthy, focused classroom environment.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has provided far more than supplies. It has allowed us to create a classroom rich in daily practice, repeated instruction, hands-on engagement, and positive reinforcement. Every item you funded plays a role in helping our students feel supported, capable, and excited to learn. We are deeply grateful for your investment in their success.","fullyFundedDate":1767128146439,"projectUrl":"project/fueling-brains-one-click-at-a-time/9895958/","projectTitle":"Fueling Brains, One Click at a Time","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Dixon","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7774535_orig.jpg?crop=768,768,x896,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1677978937839","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7774535"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_64659","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":528,"numTeachers":32,"percentFrplEligible":91,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":44,"percentWhite":30,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":11,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"16.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":69.0,"schoolId":64659,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about George D Lisby Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"George D Lisby Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/maryland/harford-county-public-school-district/george-d-lisby-elementary-school/64659"}
