The students are really enjoying the upgrades so far. So much so, they want to make as many projects as they can. For instance, we are in our car project where one of the students' works made an old race car. Now that he has extra time, he wants to see if he can make an eighteen-wheeler! Already the vehicle looks great, and I know he can't wait to print it off. \r\n\r\nAnother student also loves the printers because he can trial and error his designs without taking up any build time from other students. Already, he is testing on workable doors and movable propellers on his amphibious car. \r\n\r\nAgain, I can't thank you enough for the donation as we soon wrap up our car project and move on to the boat project. Thank you very much, and hopefully you can see these students' work out in the world!","fullyFundedDate":1746469669787,"projectUrl":"project/new-3d-printers-for-my-students/9256329/","projectTitle":"New 3d Printers for My Students","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Howes","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9273937_orig.jpg?crop=960,960,x292,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1695042330328","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9273937"},{"teacherId":9868998,"projectId":8997407,"letterContent":"We have used the 3D printers to make fidget toys for our friends in the special education room across the hall, made boats with the challenges of holding the most Pennie's and being the smallest, as well as creating a model rocket that would fly the highest out of all rockets printed! We have learned the engineering process, learned how to innovate, and also built up our patience for things when they don't work right.\r\n\r\n\r\nMost exciting to the students was the freedom to create what they envisioned in their minds. They weren't building a copy of what I wanted, it was their own! They weren't building also excited, yet nervous to have complete control over the project. I released the reins early in and let them flounder with guidance, but also purpose.\r\n\r\n\r\nThe only issue I have now is needed more printers! Other teachers are brainstorming how to use them and I think it's a wonderful idea!","fullyFundedDate":1734534904483,"projectUrl":"project/a-vision-turned-into-reality-3d-printe/8997407/","projectTitle":"A Vision Turned Into Reality. 3D Printers for Freshmen!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Morrell","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9868998_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1751402122875","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrmorrellsmhs"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_65330","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":427,"numTeachers":32,"percentFrplEligible":64,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":94,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":1,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"13.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":82.4,"schoolId":65330,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Spruce Mountain High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Spruce Mountain High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/maine/rsu-73/jay-high-school/65330"}
