The idea for the patio actually came from these former students, and they were so honored to see their vision come to life.\r\n\r\nWhen the patio pieces began arriving in boxes, the students were thrilled to help assemble them and watch the space take shape. Since then, we've received so many kind words from parents, community members, administrators, and teachers who have described the space as inviting, homey, and simply wonderful.\r\n\r\nStudents use the space to read quietly, work independently, or take a peaceful moment to reflect. Others gather on the floor pillows to talk and connect with friends. As a teacher, I deeply cherish this area—it's a calming, welcoming place to build relationships with students. We have had students who also misplace their work by placing it in places in our classroom where it gets lost. Our new ceramic rack has been very helpful in storing student work so that it does not get misplaced or damaged. It keeps the work clean and safe. We are so very grateful for your generous donation to bring this handy rack into our classroom!\r\nWe look forward to incorporating more ceramics and are now considering activities like creating 3d cardboard collages from magazine cutouts, making recycled art sculptures and designing new art pieces using old fabric scraps and other found fiber materials. \r\n.\r\n Involving students in maintaining the ceramic rack can be achieved by assigning a weekly \"rack monitor\" who will ensure it stays organized and tidy, fostering responsibility and teamwork. This trimester I am teaching 7th graders. They are ramping up communication and collaboration skill sets in order to become safe recreational drone pilots!\r\n\r\nWe are completing different challenges to build proper flight terminology, to fly the drone with the controller, a bit more challenging than expected, and most have already earned their TRUST certificate, which by law, you now need in order to fly outdoors recreationally. I am printing a hard copy for each student, because this certificate is good for life... unless they loose the paper. However, they also receive a digital copy as back up!\r\n\r\nWe have had the misadventure, twice, of a drone becoming entangled in hair!
