Metropolitan Expeditionary Learning School (MELS) is a school dedicated to providing educational experiences to students that broaden their perspective on the world and engage them with real world problems. This is accomplished through a unique teaching model focused around authentic products where students engage in the work of professionals to learn standards aligned content and skills. Teachers design and execute their own curriculum that engages students with experts from the field, fieldwork to collect data and application of what they learned to a final product presented to an authentic audience.
