Supplies like tissues, hand sanitizer, pencils, dry erase markers, and storage pouches help keep the library organized, comfortable, and ready for students. The books have been especially exciting, including the Blue Lock manga, Dork Diaries, graphic novels, and other high-interest titles. We've also started using the game Spot It! during student free time, giving kids another way to connect and spend time together in the library.\r\n\r\nThe books definitely got the biggest reaction! Students immediately noticed the new manga, graphic novels, and Dork Diaries books and started asking when they could check them out. It's always fun when a student spots a book they've been hoping we would get. The games have also been a hit, especially during downtime when students want to hang out with friends and play something together.\r\n\r\nI'm going to keep building on the excitement around reading and making the library a place students want to be. Students are currently exploring the new books, continuing popular series, and recommending titles to their friends. I'll keep paying attention to what they're asking for and use those requests to guide future additions to our collection. The books about soccer are currently overtaking the sports bin, to the point where soccer may need their own designated bin. Students are constantly checking these books out of our classroom, always looking for which book to read next. \r\n\r\nStudents can't get enough of these books. The \"Football Superstars\" books by Simon Mugford and Dan Green are a beautiful combination of engaging visuals and text of current soccer superstars. Students are learning about their journeys, which students are finding to be very relatable. For instance, a student pointed out that growing up Kevin De Bruyne had a bad temper and would cry when he couldn't play soccer. These stories are helping students related to their idols through reading -- winning!\r\n\r\nThank you again for helping to spark a love of reading through the love of soccer.
