From the moment they step outside, their eyes light up with anticipation as they run toward the bouncers and soccer balls. The new additions to our playground have truly transformed our outdoor time into an even more meaningful and joyful experience. It has been wonderful to watch their confidence grow as they explore, move, and challenge themselves in new ways.\r\n\r\n One of their favorite activities is bouncing across the yard. Some of the children are working on balance and coordination, carefully steadying themselves before each bounce. What may look like simple play is actually building important gross motor skills, strengthening their leg muscles, improving balance, and increasing endurance. Most importantly, it builds confidence as they master a new skill.\r\n\r\nThe soccer equipment has also been a huge hit. Many of the students enjoy practicing their kicking skills, aiming for goals, and working together in small groups. They are learning how to take turns, communicate with teammates, and encourage one another. \r\n\r\nWe are incredibly thankful for these new outdoor materials. They have made a lasting impact on our students' physical development, social growth, and daily joy.","fullyFundedDate":1769646301720,"projectUrl":"project/little-movers-big-adventures/10003186/","projectTitle":"Little Movers, Big Adventures","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Lovil","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4530948_orig.jpg?crop=737,737,x0,y130&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1746109494768","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4530948"},{"teacherId":2042228,"projectId":9096073,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for funding this project. Your donation allowed for our students to receive their \"Christmas present\", a recorder, about two weeks before our Christmas break. They were very excited to receive these gifts and extremely eager to get started with their instruments. Within that short period of time, they were able to put their knowledge of musical notation and rhythms to the test. By the time they left for our Christmas break, they had mastered several notes on the recorder as well as playing with a good tone. When school resumed in January, they were ready to begin Recorder Karate. Since then, they have earned their white belt, yellow belt, and are currently working on their orange belt in the Recorder Karate curriculum along with learning other musical skills on their recorders.\r\n The Recorder Karate program has allowed for the fourth grade students of Dularge Elementary to experience the fun of learning music. They are now considered the \"Fourth Grade Band\" and will be performing at the Spring Band Concert in May. Recorder Karate has been a great motivational tool that keeps the students interested in learning more about playing music. Studying the recorder and learning about music in such a fun way has now influenced the amount of students interested in joining the school band program. It is indeed a gateway to creating a better instrumental band program for Dularge Elementary School.","fullyFundedDate":1733288631923,"projectUrl":"project/kickstart-creativity-empowering-student/8977577/","projectTitle":"Kickstart Creativity: Empowering Students with Recorder Karate","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Authement","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/499056"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_16396","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":251,"numTeachers":21,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":23,"percentWhite":48,"percentIndigenous":12,"percentLatinx":3,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"12.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":66.3,"schoolId":16396,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Dularge Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Dularge Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/louisiana/terrebonne-parish-school-district/dularge-middle-school/16396"}
