We are using the materials to create more engaging, hands-on learning experiences that help students strengthen their foundational math skills while building confidence. One of our recent activities focused on number sense and problem-solving, where students worked together in small groups to solve challenges, explain their thinking, and learn from one another. It was exciting to see students actively participating and realizing that math can be interactive and fun!\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new materials, they were genuinely excited. They immediately wanted to know what we were going to do with everything and when they would get a chance to use it. That excitement brought a new energy into the classroom. For many students, having new and engaging resources makes them feel like their learning matters and that someone outside of our classroom believes in their success.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue building the prerequisite skills students need to be successful in Algebra 1. We will move from strengthening number sense and integer operations into solving equations, working with linear relationships, and eventually systems of equations. Students will continue participating in collaborative activities, hands-on practice, checkpoints, and real-world problem-solving opportunities.\r\n\r\nThank you to our donors for investing in my students and our classroom. Your generosity is helping me create a learning environment where students can build their skills, grow their confidence, and see themselves as successful mathematicians.
