As a former member of the Louisiana Air National Guard, I understand the importance of Veteran’s Day and giving back to veterans. I am now a teacher at Lake Pontchartrain Elementary School in La Place, LA. I, along with one of my colleagues, would like help to do a gratitude to veterans at our school. The seventh-grade class will be writing thank you notes of gratitude to retired members of the Air Force who have served in many different wars that live in the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Home. We would like to create gift bags which will include hats, soaks, toiletries, crossword puzzles, and a pen. Please help us show the students’ that servicing our service members is important. We will be purchasing the items from the www.dollartree.com. We will be attempting to create sixty-five bags, one from every seventh grade student. If you would like, you can donate items or monetary donations. Items can be mailed to Attention: Mrs. Harvey (Mathematics) Lake Pontchartrain Elementary 3328 Highway 51, La Place, LA 70068. I thank you in advance for any help you can contribute. I though of this project recently, so although I may not make it available Veteran’s Day, I would like to complete it for Christmas.
