Thanks to your generosity, students now have access to microphones, recording equipment, and production tools that allow them to create high-quality content instead of just talking about it.\r\n\r\nThe impact was immediate. Students began recording podcasts, experimenting with audio techniques, and learning how to plan, script, and edit their own content. What started as curiosity quickly turned into ownership—students took pride in their work, collaborated with each other, and began to see themselves as creators, not just consumers of media.\r\n\r\nFor many of my students, this was their first time using professional-style equipment. Learning how to handle microphones, manage sound quality, and edit recordings gave them tangible, real-world skills that connect directly to career pathways in media, communications, and technology.\r\n\r\nJust as importantly, this space gave students a place to express themselves. They created content about topics that matter to them—from school life to community issues—building both confidence and voice in the process.\r\n\r\nYour support didn't just provide supplies—it opened the door for students to develop technical skills, creative confidence, and a sense of possibility for their futures.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in my students and making this opportunity possible.","fullyFundedDate":1762267732887,"projectUrl":"project/content-creation-club/9864922/","projectTitle":"Content Creation Club!","teacherDisplayName":"Dr. Maria Velazquez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6781941_orig.jpg?crop=2766,2766,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1567128861465","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/dr-velazquez"},{"teacherId":6781941,"projectId":10027968,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your support. One of the best ways to make school feel welcome and safe to students is to project an image of being well-supplied. It's not just about having enough pencils, it's looking like you have a surplus, so that students don't feel bad about taking what they need. \r\n\r\nWith your support, I was able to create a stockpile of hygiene products and restock my first aid supplies. I was also able to have on hand consumable resources like headphones, Command strips for wall art, and other resources that students ask for in order to take ownership of their education. Knowing you have what you need frees your brain to be creative. Just today, I have had students use the strips for a poetry campaign and another student go into the first aid kit for Band-Aids. \r\n\r\nThank you for your support.","fullyFundedDate":1769011845770,"projectUrl":"project/new-year-new-us/10027968/","projectTitle":"New Year New Us","teacherDisplayName":"Dr. Maria Velazquez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6781941_orig.jpg?crop=2766,2766,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1567128861465","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/dr-velazquez"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_15933","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":534,"numTeachers":27,"percentFrplEligible":77,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":89,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":8,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"19.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":40.0,"schoolId":15933,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Sophie B Wright Charter School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Sophie B Wright Charter School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/louisiana/orleans-parish-school-district/sophie-b-wright-charter-school/15933"}
