They carefully place it on top of the Toniebox. The story begins—and they realize, \"I did that.\"\r\n\r\nFor my young students with special needs, that little moment is a BIG deal.\r\n\r\nThanks to you, our classroom now has a Toniebox and a wonderful collection of Tonies that allow my students to explore stories, music, language, and some of their favorite subjects in a way they can access independently. There are no complicated menus to navigate, no tiny buttons to figure out, and no need to ask an adult to make it work. They can choose what interests them, place it on the box, and listen.\r\n\r\nAnd there is plenty to choose from! *The Cat in the Hat* brings us the silliness, rhyme, and rhythm that make children fall in love with language. *Elmer* gives us a beautiful way to talk about differences and celebrate what makes each of us unique. National Geographic Dinosaurs lets my dinosaur-loving learners soak up facts about a subject they could happily discuss ALL DAY. And our Creative Tonie gives me the ability to create listening experiences just for them.\r\n\r\nYes, they think they are having fun.\r\n\r\nMeanwhile, they are building attention and listening skills. They are hearing new vocabulary. They are experiencing books and storytelling. They are making choices, exploring their interests, practicing independence, and discovering that they can be in charge of part of their own learning.\r\n\r\nThat is the kind of learning I love most.\r\n\r\nThank you for seeing the potential in my students and for giving them another way to learn that meets them exactly where they are. Thank you for helping me fill our classroom with stories, curiosity, independence, and a little bit more wonder.\r\n\r\nMost of all, thank you for giving my students one more opportunity to say:\r\n\r\n\"I can do it myself.\"\r\n\r\nThat is a pretty amazing gift.","fullyFundedDate":1780420440301,"projectUrl":"project/screen-free-storytelling-and-literacy-th/10316046/","projectTitle":"Screen-Free Storytelling and Literacy Through Toniebox Listening Centers","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Moore","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp605654_orig.jpg?crop=1732,1732,x0,y155&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1669847095488","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrsjmoore"},{"teacherId":8882200,"projectId":9982793,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for sponsoring our DonorsChoose.
