We work on different feelings, coping strategies to manage big emotions. We practice those strategies in our small resource room and then they can practice the skills in their homeroom classroom. \r\nMy students were excited when we saw the Koala Breathing Pal. They liked seeing the lights and trying to breathe in when it was a certain color and then holding their breathe. They are working on breathing slowly to not get hyper about it. \r\nThe Social Skills journals are good for these groups also because they have short lessons about different scenerios and since we have short classes as a resource, we are able to finish these activities in the time we have. They enjoy drawing pictures to show the feelings and listening to the stories and thinking about how these skills can help them. \r\nThe Skittles are a big hit. They work so hard to earn their Skittles each class by listening and being kind and respectful during class and finishing their work. They were so excited when I gave them their first reward for listening. \r\nThank you so much for all the support for this project helping make our classroom kinder and more respectful.","fullyFundedDate":1785964368414,"projectUrl":"project/social-skills-read-write-reward/10396503/","projectTitle":"Social Skills Read Write Reward","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Krausen","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1569763_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1452615770483","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1569763"},{"teacherId":10516389,"projectId":10300997,"letterContent":"Describe the Impact\r\n\r\nTell your donors what this project has done for your students, answering questions like:\r\nHow are you and your students using the new resources?
