We are able to meet at the beginning of the day, learn, play, sing, dance and close are day here. Every child has their own space is able to have a spot to belong in the classroom. It truly brings our classroom together and is the centerpiece of the room. The students immediately were drawn to it and couldn't wait to find a spot on the carpet. As we settle into routines in our classroom they are not only using it for learning but also on our first rainy day our indoor recess time this spot came right into play with them being able to space out and play on the carpet. Your generosity has already made an exciting difference for my young readers.\r\n\r\nIn first grade, one of my biggest goals is to help children see themselves as readers. At this age, students are developing their confidence, stamina, and independence, and having books they genuinely want to pick up makes such a difference. The new graphic novels have been especially exciting because the combination of engaging illustrations, accessible text, and familiar characters helps make reading feel fun and achievable—even for students who may still be hesitant to choose a book on their own.\r\n\r\nThese books are giving my students more opportunities to read independently, share books with friends, talk about favorite characters, and discover new series they want to continue reading. I love seeing students become excited about visiting our classroom library and hearing them recommend books to one another. Those moments are helping us build not only stronger reading skills, but also a classroom community where books are something to enjoy and celebrate.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in my students and helping us grow a classroom library that children are eager to explore. These books will be loved by this year's class and by many more first graders in the years to come. Your support truly helps create lifelong readers, one book at a time.","fullyFundedDate":1784113431948,"projectUrl":"project/books-that-fly-off-the-shelves/10311521/","projectTitle":"Books That Fly Off the Shelves!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Tuttle","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4094109_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1782412869437","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4094109"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_58279","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":534,"numTeachers":28,"percentFrplEligible":22,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":5,"percentWhite":79,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":5,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":7,"gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"19.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":83.5,"schoolId":58279,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Bloom Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Bloom Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/kentucky/jefferson-county-public-schools/bloom-elementary-school/58279"}
