They are a huge improvement from the worn-out cases I had previously. The old cases had latches and zippers that did not work and some did not close well. The new cases have smooth zippers and comfortable handles for easy carry by students.\r\n \r\nOne of the cases was for a cello and it is a hard-shell case that will keep the cello extremely safe. In the past I have had cellos get damaged even when they are in a soft-shell case. \r\n\r\nMy students were very excited to see the new cases. One of the best parts of the new cases is the pocket that is on the outside. My students really like that they can put their shoulder rests and music in those pockets and have everything in one place. It has been a great start to the year being able to provide every student not only with a shoulder rest but also a way to keep track of it. Some years, I am scrambling to find shoulder rests and other supplies for my students, and it slows down our progress because we need to focus on acquiring basic classroom materials. \r\n\r\nIt was a great feeling to be able to provide these materials to my students. I know for some of them they were feeling worried because they were not sure how they were going to get materials for class. When they came to class, and I had their new shoulder rest and bag already on their instrument they were super happy. \r\n\r\nForming a good base is important to having a good orchestra program. All of my student's posture is looking great because everyone has a quality shoulder. This is going to be great for when the students go on to middle school because there will be no bad habits to break. I was able to supply every student that could not fit a shoulder rest in their case with a bag to strap on the case handle. This has been so helpful and has basically eliminated students forgetting their shoulder rests at home or in their book bags. And for students that are borrowing a shoulder rest from me it allows them to use the same one each time rather than grabbing one at random and hoping it will fit. \r\n\r\nWhen the students got to school and saw the bags on their cases, they were a little confused because it was new to them. But when I told them it was for them to use for the year, they were excited. They appreciate the convenience of having the shoulder rest in the same place as the instrument. Now wherever they take the instrument they will have the correct materials to play properly. \r\n\r\nWith future projects I hope to acquire more bags for when i have larger classes and start to replace old cases.
