We use it for whole-group lessons, read-alouds, morning meetings, and small-group activities. One of my favorite moments was watching my students gather on the rug for our first lesson after it arrived. They were so excited to have a special space where we could all come together, and it immediately became a favorite part of our classroom.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the rug, they were so excited! They immediately wanted to sit on it and were eager to see how we would use it in our classroom. They loved having a new space that felt like it belonged to our class. It was a wonderful reminder that even something as simple as a classroom rug can make students feel more comfortable, connected, and excited to learn.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, we will continue using our rug as a central learning space for interactive reading and math lessons, partner discussions, and activities where students can practice explaining their thinking. I am especially excited to use it during read-alouds and literacy lessons because it gives us a comfortable place to come together, listen, discuss, and build our love of learning. Thanks to our generous donors, my students have a welcoming classroom environment where they can learn, collaborate, and feel at home.","fullyFundedDate":1779244908090,"projectUrl":"project/a-soft-space-for-big-learning/10183793/","projectTitle":"A Soft Space for Big Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Jefferis","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10475590_orig.jpg?crop=1200,1200,x0,y60&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1775585317084","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10475590"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_56526","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":313,"numTeachers":35,"percentFrplEligible":88,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":80,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":3,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":10,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 2","studentTeacherRatio":"8.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":58.9,"schoolId":56526,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Winfield Scott Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Winfield Scott Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/kansas/fort-scott-unified-school-district-234/winfield-scott-elementary-school/56526"}
