With these new resources, students are using the Silhouette Cameo cutting machine and art supplies to design and create handmade cards for nursing home residents and community heroes, including veterans, doctors, police officers, firefighters, and other essential workers. When students first saw the materials, they were excited and eager to begin creating, especially knowing they would be working alongside their 6th grade buddies on this project.\r\n\r\nWorking together, older and younger students collaborated on card designs and thoughtful messages of gratitude and encouragement. In addition to the cards, students are including small care items such as lotion and lip balm to bring comfort to recipients. These shared moments sparked meaningful conversations about empathy, service, teamwork, and community responsibility.\r\n\r\nThe next steps include delivering the cards and reflecting on how their kindness impacted others.
