All of the supplies have gone to making placemats, creating ornaments, and wrapping them up for our local assisted living homes. Watching students create ornaments, some for the first time, has been such a blessing for our 5th grade students and our community! \r\n\r\nWhen I first brought the materials in, my entire class showed such excitement for the project and were ready to get started. While this project was intended to only go to one assisted living center, it has expanded to a veteran center and some cards will be going to one of our local senior centers because of student involvement and suggestions! \r\n\r\nWe will be delivering our gifts soon! Thank you so much for your help and donations towards this wonderful project! These mini microphones have greatly improved how well the student chromebooks pick up their voices. They cancel out the extra noise and capture their speech clearly. Multiple students reported that now it is much easier to talk into the computer when doing voice-to-text. They rarely have to repeat themselves like they did before using the microphones. I have several students who have an accommodation of voice-to-text. This has made it so much easier and quicker for them to complete their writing tasks because the microphones do what they are intended to do. I am so thankful, and so are the students, for these little gadgets.
