My students pick books from our shelf to put in their book box to have for independent reading throughout the week. Every few weeks, we \"shop\" for new books. These books provide a variety of texts for my students to access.\r\n\r\nEach morning when my students arrive, if they are early they find a cozy spot and some books off the shelf to enjoy while they wait for their classmates to arrive and our day to start. \r\n\r\nThese books have also been used as texts for our lessons to help the students build their comprehension skills. They have helped support our learning and love for reading in many ways.
