The students were very excited to see the new materials and could not wait for them to be opened and start exploring with them!\r\n\r\nThe new materials for the Magnatiles have allowed the students to expand their play and ideas while building with the current magnatiles we already had in the classroom. They now have roads, cars, people, doors and windows, and picture tiles to make community buildings. The addition of these materials allow the students to use their problem solving skills to create different types of buildings for a town or build a car they can drive around in the community they create. They will also be able to make connections to things we are learning about in the classroom and show that in their play especially when we learn about communities and community helpers. \r\n\r\nAlso the addition of the Blockaroo blocks the students have been using their imagination and problem solving skills to create different structures. They were creating boats, rockets and so many other things. \r\n\r\nAll the materials we received as part of this project not only help the students grow in their problem solving skills through play based learning, but also helps foster social skills of working together and taking turns with the materials. \r\n\r\nI appreciate your generous donation towards this project that not only is allowing the students this year in my classroom opportunities to grow their problem solving and social skills through play based learning, but will also benefit students in the years to come!","fullyFundedDate":1779370458167,"projectUrl":"project/future-engineers-learning-through-play/10182754/","projectTitle":"Future Engineers Learning Through Play","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Burke","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10475299"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_51499","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":435,"numTeachers":16,"percentFrplEligible":40,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":89,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":8,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":2,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"27.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":77.8,"schoolId":51499,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Riceville Community School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Riceville Community School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/iowa/riceville-community-school-district/riceville-community-school/51499"}
