My students take pride in a neat and tidy classroom environment. They also loved the indoor recess games that were purchased. These games provided fun and time to practice social skills. I currently serve fourth grade students at my school. They are amazing students who try so very hard daily. Unfortunately, many of them have very challenging lives. Many of their parents are working two to three jobs just to survive. This means that many of the student in our school don't always have what they need. They use many of the schools resources to help them but sometimes this is not enough. I have had many students who did not want to ask their parents for lip balm or even deodorant because they do not want to be burden on their parents. \r\n\r\nThe biggest win from your donation is the shear ability for me to help students who need it. I am able to say, \"oh don't worry I have that!\" Students have become more open and available because they are not worried if they will have what they need to get through the day. The gloves have been a game changer. I have plenty for students to use and as well as sending them home for students who do not have them at home. With the extremely cold temperatures we have been having lip balm and gloves are a huge GAME CHANGER!!!! \r\n\r\nFourth grade is a challenging time where you are not quite sure if you are a teenager or a kid and many times we begin puberty in fourth grade or before. It has been so wonderful to have the deodorant to support the student through these times. They do not have to feel embarrassed or self conscience about how they smell or look. Student have what they need. \r\n\r\nIt may seem like these are small items, but truly they are things that have made our classroom and grade level feel like a community of helping partners. Students are not in their feelings about the things they do not have, but rather their brains are freed up to learning when these seemingly small needs are met. \r\n\r\nThanbk you soooooo MUCH!!!! You are much appreciated and definitely are welcome to visit any time you would like!
