We have been utilizing our Minds in Motion lab for a couple of weeks now, and I have heard nothing but positive things from it. The kids love it and ask their teachers if they can go. One kid said that it was even more fun than recess(I'm not sure about that). I do know that while the kids think that they are just in there for fun, they really are working on their vestibular system and building balancing, focusing, agility, and coordination. Research shows how important sensory/motor neural development through the vestibular system is to the learning process. This development requires a host of coordinated exercises through integrating movement. We quickly learned that we have children that had no idea how to skip or jump a rope, balance on a beam, or catch. The children, teachers, and I thank you for this gift.","fullyFundedDate":1758844798447,"projectUrl":"project/body-and-mind/9575894/","projectTitle":"Body and Mind","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Hiatt","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6272999_orig.jpg?crop=160,160,x0,y16&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754956576021","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6272999"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_20541","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":268,"numTeachers":9,"percentFrplEligible":67,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":95,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":3,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"29.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":60.4,"schoolId":20541,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Carlisle Elementary & Junior High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Carlisle Elementary & Junior High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/indiana/southwest-school-district-7715/carlisle-elementary-junior-high-school/20541"}
