Students have loved getting their hands on the new paint, cardstock, poster board, and paint sticks. These materials have turned our classroom into a mini backstage workshop where students can create props, design scenery, and bring the stories behind our music to life. Their excitement is contagious as they cut, paint, design, and problem-solve together. One of my favorite moments is watching students realize that what they create with their own hands will become part of a real performance for their families and friends.\r\n\r\nThese materials have also helped students see that there is so much more to a performance than what happens on stage. While creating, students are practicing collaboration, creativity, communication, and problem-solving while exploring careers such as set designers, production artists, stage managers, and creative directors. They are learning that their ideas matter and that everyone can play an important role in making a performance special.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to keep creating! Students will continue designing props and scenery for upcoming performances while finding new ways to combine music, movement, visual art, and storytelling. With these resources, our music room has become a place where imagination can shine, creativity can grow, and students can truly say, \"We made that!\"","fullyFundedDate":1777997178242,"projectUrl":"project/props-paint-and-possibilities/10224859/","projectTitle":"Props, Paint, and Possibilities","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Mullenix","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10378811_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1765381229884","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10378811"},{"teacherId":10378811,"projectId":10159138,"letterContent":"Our new stools have quickly become an important part of our music room! The students were thrilled to see the new stools and couldn't wait to try them out. They have quickly become a favorite part of our classroom, helping students feel like real musicians and performers. Students use them every day while playing drums, xylophones, metallophones, and glockenspiels. Since the stools are lightweight and easy to move, students can quickly set up their own seats as we move from one musical adventure to the next. They are even being used in our calm corner as a cozy spot for students to pause, reset, and get ready to make music again.\r\n\r\nThe stools have also opened the door to even more creative and playful learning! Students use them during singing and movement activities, creative play with manipulatives and stuffed animals, instrument exploration, and small-group music making. I love seeing students take ownership of their space as they move, create, sing, play, and imagine. Our next steps are to keep building confident, independent young musicians through instrument playing, movement, singing, creative music-making, and performances. These stools have truly helped our music room become even more flexible, fun, and full of joyful sound!","fullyFundedDate":1773971724707,"projectUrl":"project/take-a-seat-make-a-beat/10159138/","projectTitle":"Take a Seat! Because of your generosity, our students now have new Orff mallets to use with our xylophones and metallophones, and the impact has been immediate and exciting. With more mallets available, students have had greater opportunities to actively participate—improvising, composing, creating, and sharing instruments with their classmates. This has allowed every child to be more fully engaged in the music-making process.\r\n\r\nOur students have especially loved exploring how different types of mallets create unique sounds on each instrument, bringing a new level of curiosity and discovery into our classroom. Their excitement says it all: \"These mallets are AWESOME!\" and \"I feel like a real musician!\" Your support has helped make music learning hands-on, meaningful, and joyful. Thank you for helping us create an environment where students can explore, create, and truly come alive through music.\r\n\r\nBecause of these materials, I have been able to expand my teaching to include more collaborative and student-centered experiences. As we move forward, students will continue building on these skills by refining their compositions, adding rhythmic patterns, and exploring more complex arrangements on barred instruments. Your support has made music more accessible, hands-on, and inspiring for every student, and we are so grateful for the difference you have made in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1765846862957,"projectUrl":"project/mallet-magic-making-music-come-alive/9953814/","projectTitle":"Mallet Magic: Making Music Come Alive!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Mullenix","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10378811_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1765381229884","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10378811"},{"teacherId":6736368,"projectId":9142119,"letterContent":"My students were SO overjoyed to receive their own copy of the One and Only Bob!
