One of the best ways to build language skills is through play! Research shows that the power of play is vital for young children's physical, social, and emotional development. These manipulative toys will be used daily in play centers as an outlet to help students create and explore through play! Students will use these manipulative toys to create imaginative situations where they can practice language skills while expanding their vocabularies! In my classroom, students use manipulative tubs each day as part of their language arts practice. During this time, students work together to use the manipulative toys. This, in turn, allows students to practice real life situations such as cooperation and collaboration, all while enriching their social and academic vocabulary.
