Starting in the fall, students who need to access the space will do so supervised following a customized and structured plan. From the very first experience, it was clear how powerful these tools are for student learning and engagement.\r\n\r\nStudents were introduced to the kits through a challenge that combined prefixes and suffixes with division problems. They worked in two teams, collaborating to solve clues, test ideas, and unlock the next steps. Throughout the activity, I heard students encouraging one another, celebrating progress, and calmly regrouping when something didn't work the first time.\r\n\r\nWhat stood out most were the moments of authentic leadership. Some students naturally stepped into roles as organizers, motivators, and problem-solvers, helping their teams stay focused and positive. Others found their voice by contributing ideas and supporting their teammates.\r\n\r\nThese kits didn't just reinforce academic skills—they built confidence, teamwork, and leadership. The items that we were able to purchase has helped the students in so many ways. The swings have helped with calming and helping the students to de-escalate when they are having sensory issues. The bubble tube has been a huge success, the student will sit and watch it and it has really helped in the calming of the students as well. The astronaut light gives a element of movement that can help soothe the students as well when they are over stimulated. \r\n When the items first arrived the students were very excited to see them. The enjoy swinging on the swing and camping chairs. The camping chairs with their swinging ability, helps give the students as sense of sitting outside while looking at the stars with the astronaut light. They are learning about diverse cultures, international news, and important global issues such as climate change, technology, and innovation. The stories help them build empathy and respect for people with different experiences and perspectives.\r\n\r\nIn addition, the topics covered in Time for Kids promote critical thinking and awareness of social issues that affect our everyday lives.
