Having subscriptions to Flocabulary and BrainPop Jr. will help my students be savvy digital learners. These websites are rich not only in the content of the materials, but also with how it is presented. Flocabulary teaches the students vocabulary in a fun, musical way. Studies show that when students learn with music, they are more apt to remember. BrainPopJr. not only covers a plethora of subjects, but is also entertaining with the cartoon-like characters they use to deliver instruction. Students will be able to use these websites as a supplement to the instruction I give them in class. With these new online subscriptions, students will be able to learn in an interactive, engaging way. BrainPop Jr. has engaging learning games, animated activities as well as activities that are designed on a child's specific level. This will help me differentiate instruction so that I can meet all my students at their level. Flocabulary will help my student retain important vocabulary words. Instead of just memorizing and writing them out, Flocabulary will help them learn through music and videos. This site is also differentiated so that it meets my students at the level they are at. By implementing these two websites into my curriculum as supplements, I hope my student's engagement level and joy of learning will increase.
