The students and I are using the area for creative writing and reading space. In this specific area I am able to work with students in small groups. Working in small groups has allowed me to conduct writing conferences with students. During the writing conferences the students are able to get feedback on their rough drafts. Students are able to understand how I process their writings, and the student get a better understanding of my overall expectations, we use the rubric to move through this process. \r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the CReative Writing Station, they all want to make the writing station their permanent space. This area, thanks to the donations is inviting, colorful, resourceful and encourages the students to become creative. \r\n\r\nThe CReative Writing Station has proven to be useful/ helpful and there is evidence that this space is helping to move the students forward in their writing and reading skills. My students' assessment scores increased 43% (passing and approaching grade level), from August 2024 to December 2024.
