With the Makedo cardboard tools you funded, my students were able to design, build, test, and revise their own creations using one of the most accessible materials available—cardboard. These tools transformed simple recycled boxes into an engineering playground where students prototyped structures, machines, and inventions in a hands-on, collaborative environment.\r\n\r\nThe first project we used the tools to complete was a design your own haunted house. Through this project, students strengthened essential STEM skills such as planning, measuring, structural thinking, teamwork, and creative problem-solving. Even more importantly, they began to see themselves as makers—capable of turning everyday materials into meaningful, functional designs. For many of my students, this was their first experience with real engineering tools and the confidence that comes from building something with their own hands.\r\n\r\nYour generosity created learning that was active, joyful, and empowering. It has been a true blessing to them. Our school lunch is later in the day and we get lots of \"hungry tummies\" before its time to eat, so the donated snacks are much appreciated daily!\r\n\r\nWe have a large number of free/reduced lunch kiddos, not having to ask our families for snacks daily, takes some of the pressure off them. I know that is helpful to everyone. \r\n\r\nThank you for making sure the students are fed, in turn helping them to focus better and participate more fully. I have added some stuffed animals and they love the soft carpet to sit on and read with their \"reading buddies\". The smaller book shelves are the perfect size for my little kindergartners. They are able to independently go over, select a book of their choice and get comfy to read and calm down.\r\n\r\nWe also have a selection of fidgets available in this calming corner, and it has been a great resource for our classroom. Our classroom has bright, colorful and meaningful classroom decor thanks to your wonderful donations. \r\n\r\nThis project included a number of school readiness items: calendar, daily learning posters, books, puzzles, and basic teacher supplies. With this funded project, I was able to have materials ready to set up my classroom and maintain a smooth start with supplies needed everyday in the classroom. \r\n\r\nOur class uses the calendar, months of the year poster, days of the week poster, place value pocket chart, weather bulletin board items, number and color cards, and positive affirmation posters EVERYDAY! We couldn't do our daily morning routines without all of this. Your donation has been truly appreciated. \r\n\r\nMy class also loves the variety of educational toys and manipulatives we received. The floor puzzles are a huge hit! These new resources have already made a huge difference in how my students manage their materials and stay focused. Every day, students use their group caddies to keep supplies organized, and to make sure they always have what they need to be successful! It was amazing to see how much easier it was for them to find what they needed. I was also able to use the book bins to organize my larger picture books, which have been super disorganized since I started teaching! This small change has helped boost student independence when finding books they are interested in!\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the organization supplies, they were excited and eager to use them. Many mentioned how much they appreciated having a way to organize their supplies and keep them in a safe space. It made them feel more prepared and motivated. Your contribution has truly enhanced our classroom environment, making it a more welcoming and productive place. Looking ahead, we are diving into a science units about the human body, dinosaurs, and astronomy. Students will be able to easily find books about these subjects that stick out to them, making them more engaged and connected to the new topics we learn!","fullyFundedDate":1750774743785,"projectUrl":"project/organization-equals-productivity/9334008/","projectTitle":"Organization Equals Productivity!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Wolschlager","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10026904_orig.jpg?crop=5461,5461,x1365,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1758807823454","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10026904"},{"teacherId":10026904,"projectId":9350356,"letterContent":"I am so grateful to be able to give my students the gift of calm and quiet this year! Having 12 pairs of headphones means over half my classroom can now use headphones whenever they need. Given we are an arts-integrated school, students are constantly in musical spaces and may need a moment of quiet! Students who I thought would never need the headphones have found themselves focusing more with them on, and they have become normal in my classroom, rather than weird or different.\r\n\r\nThe sensory stickers have been a great tool especially during beginning of the year testing. I have found most of my students will touch them while they are stressed or working out a difficult problem. I put them on the back of their iPads so that they are always accessible to them! They have been such a great focusing and calming tool!\r\nStudents really love the cute designs of the stickers, and love showing them off.
