To me and my students, this is the heart of our classroom. These shelves hold student materials (found in the bins on the bottom rows), textbooks (hopefully not for long as I want to fill those shelves, too), and of course our BOOKS! I was able to begin the school year with a commitment to independent reading and fostering a love for it. \r\n\r\nEvery Monday, my students participate in 15 minutes of independent reading. Students check my books out and are able to take them with them to other classes or even home.
