Accessibility to all was my first project geared towards a small group of kiddos who have been diagnosed with a speical disabilty. With this being my first year in the gym, I noticed right away that not all of my lessons could be completed by everyone. As soon as I realzied that, I knew that I needed to find some things that could be adative to those kiddos. \r\nWith this project, I ordered a variety of things that can be done as a supplement with stations. One thing in particular is a balance board. This was speficially ordered for a kiddo with a walking disabiltiy that will now be able to participate with their group while sitting down. I was also able to get rhythem sticks and stacking cups for other stations. So far, the two students that have been able to use these items have loved them. The materials I received support the first 15 minutes of each class. During the first 15, students are moving around to 5 stations and being physically active in a fun and engaging way. Some of the items are being used for different physical education standards as well. I also ordered shelving units and storage items to make our storage room more feasible for students to see and grab items when needed. Overall I was thrilled by the students' reactions as this is something new and exciting that they are experiencing in the gym.
