We used the gift card to purchase Sketch Notes that we now use weekly to introduce new ideas in math. The students are able to create their own anchor charts with the teacher, learn how to take notes, and create long-lasting visuals to help them create a deeper understanding of new concepts. In addition to creating a binder full of their learning throughout the year, I have already seen a huge impact in students' use and understanding of academic vocabulary from using this resource. We will be using this program for years to come and the children enjoy it deeply. When they first walked in the black-lit room with the many neon decorations, they were amazed. The strings of neon dots hanging from the ceiling really made the whole room pop! They chatted eagerly with each other as they came in and got settled. \r\n\r\nWhen we got started with our day, we learned about bioluminescent creatures. The students were thrilled to use the highlighters to write so their work glowed! Students later worked at stations, using the fluorescent Wikki Stix and glow-in-the-dark stars to learn about and build constellations. They also had an opportunity to use the neon crayons and markers to color pictures.\r\n\r\nOn day two, we played glow games and enjoyed spending one of the last days of second grade together. Your support truly helped to make these some of the most fun and memorable days in second grade.
