They can't wait until it is their turn to go back to the listening station. It is so nice to have the additional resources and fun ways to practice and learn. Sometimes even the simplest things add extra excitement to learning. They have loved all of the new materials and getting to experience them. \r\nWe have not used the headphones yet this year as the year is still young and everyone came with headphones at the beginning of the year. However, last year's class used them as theirs wore out. We have already been using the markers on an almost daily basis with our whiteboards and number lines. I created a couple of activities with the ink pens. The kids loved them. They were able to work independently using them and completing the activity. I created both a reading activity with writing and reading simple CVC words as well as a number activity that was differentiated for my learners. They could draw a set to match the number they saw or write the number word for a challenge. We have also used the smencils. They will take some additional practice as we were smelling them all day, but they were so excited to use them. \r\nWe will continue to find new ways to use our resources for learning practice. They have been a tremendous help in the classroom providing additional organization. The ease of movement with the easel has made instruction easier and added additional hands on opportunities for learning. The bookshelf has provided additional storage and space for our listening center and small group resources. My students can now easily access what they need for the listening center as well as clean up the station after using it so much easier. \r\n My students and I are so grateful for your generosity and support of their education. While these resources may not be seen as directly contributing to their learning, they are providing organization and mobility within our classroom. Flexibility has been crucial this year in order to provide greater mobility for my wheelchair bound student. Space is at a premium. I plan to continue to work with my students on developing organizational skills as we continue to use our classroom resources. My students are now more engaged, focused, and excited about learning every day. The sensory table has become a favorite center for exploration and discovery.\r\n\r\nStudents who once struggled to stay engaged during center time now have a meaningful, hands-on outlet to explore textures, pour and scoop materials, and develop fine motor skills. It has especially helped my students with sensory needs regulate their emotions and find calm during transitions or busy moments in the day.\r\n\r\nThe table has also become a social hub — children collaborate, share tools, and use rich language as they describe what they feel and see. It has sparked curiosity, creativity, and even problem-solving skills as students experiment with different materials.\r\n\r\nThanks to your support, the sensory table isn't just a classroom tool — it's a space for growth, calm, and connection. They immediately wanted to know if they were going to be using them and how! After explaining how we will utilize the boards in lessons, we started implementing them right away!\r\n When students are reviewing and/or learning trick words, they complete three steps. They count the sounds, put counters where the sounds go that make sense and hearts where they need to remember the trick parts, and finally write the letters for those sounds. The students have really enjoyed using the visual component of the boards. It is helping the students visualize the words!\r\n We will continue to use these in other ways too!
