The tissues and hand sanitizers are invaluable. They are little things that have a huge impact on our lives. For instance, last year I didn't miss even one day of school and I credit the donation of Clorox wipes and hand sanitizers. \r\n\r\nThe donation of the Ziplock bags is handy in protecting their library books. I could go on and on about the star highlighters you donated. We use them in their disposable textbooks to highlight whatever we are studying that day. One day, it may be text evidence, and the next it might be metaphors and similes. I love the highlighters! \r\n\r\nI couldn't do this without you. My students needed supplies so badly and it was amazing being able to provide them because of you.\r\n\r\nOne little girl sent me an email explaining that 2 boys took her binder and supplies and ran away with them. She was devastated. I emailed back and said, \"No worries! I've got all the good stuff; we can replace everything.\" I had the binder with matching pencil case and all the cool highlighters, pencils, and pens ready to go. It was on her desk before school even started. The look on her face was precious. I got to see that look because of you. \r\n\r\nI have gone through all of the binders already. The amount of time needed for the band students to set up their instruments and music has dropped dramatically. This gives us more time to play the music, which has resulted in improved quality of performance. The cabinets also make it much easier for me as the teacher, to distribute assignments to the students.\r\n\r\nThe students were excited to see the cabinets assembled and ready to use that first day. They wanted to use them even before I got their numbers assigned! Classroom routines are much smoother now.\r\n\r\nWe are looking forward to our first performance. Your generosity helped this happen. Your donations have meant the world to my classroom and to my students. Many of my students come from low-income situations where they have needs that are consistently unmet. Having donors who are willing to fund needs in our classroom is essential to students feeling welcome and like they belong in my classroom.\r\n\r\nWe received a wobble chair for our classroom. This item specifically helps students who need movement in order to learn well. Students use this when they have extra energy but still want to be able to \"sit still\" and learn. Wobbling on a stool can feed that need for movement while also allowing students to work at a desk in respective silence. These are not cheap and the fact that I was able to secure one for my classroom was amazing!\r\n\r\nWe also received a classroom set of headphones. Students use headphones daily in my classroom to help them watch online mini-lessons about math concepts. Securing a classroom set insured that all of my students would receive a pair of headphones in the classroom if they did not bring their own. This has been a game-changer for some of my students!\r\n\r\nThank you all for your generous giving.
