I cannot thank you enough for your generous donations that made \"Art on the Move\" possible for my students. I was able to put together about 12 arts and crafts kits from the materials that were purchased with your donations. The kits have been extremely popular- at one point all twelve kits were checked out, with students constantly requesting them!\r\n\r\nThe day I finally had the kits assembled and placed into a milk crate for browsing, my students could hardly wait for me to finish putting the crate out! They were thrilled to see the many arts/crafts options that were available. The two most popular kits so far have been the crochet kit and the rock painting kits. Prior to your donation, I had a few craft books in the library, but without the supplies to go with them. Before this funding, our shelves offered only a handful of Spanish titles, and many of them were outdated or limited to basic picture books. With your support, we were able to add more much-needed nonfiction texts, allowing students to research, explore, and learn in their home language. We also expanded our collection of graphic novels in Spanish, a format that is especially engaging for reluctant readers and one that quickly became the most popular section of our library.\r\n\r\nThese additions have transformed the reading lives of our students. Spanish-speaking children now have access to high-interest, high-quality books that reflect their language and culture, encouraging them to read for both pleasure and learning. Thanks to your donations, our library is no longer limited in what it can offer to bilingual students. Instead, it has become a place where every child can find books that speak to them, whether through nonfiction that builds knowledge, graphic novels that capture imaginations, or stories that affirm their identity.
