Math is easier to teach when I have the tools I need, and that was obvious after getting funded for and receiving the materials. Students had a lot of fun playing with them and then using them to better understand some math concepts. \r\n\r\nThe place value blocks were very helpful when it came to decimals. Students were able to visually see how groups were put together and taken apart. It was also helpful to see the breakdowns of the places and how they related to each other. Students always have fun when they get to play with the blocks, so we always allow for some time to \"play\". It is fun to see what students come up with. \r\n\r\nThe faction cubes were VERY helpful during our fractions unit! Students were able to visually see and work with equivalent fractions and make connections. It was so helpful to the visual learners to see that things were equal. It was also helpful to see the decimal equivalents.
