Right now, I have three iPads that were here when I took this position. It is great to have them, but one is being used by a student who watches videos for certain lessons and subjects. That leaves me with only two available. Having two available is great, but hard to use when I have groups bigger than two. I do have computers, but there are limitations to what can be played or added. iPads allow me to find apps that incorporate not only fun, but learning as well. There are so many free apps that are available to be downloaded as opposed to buying licenses and software. By having two more iPads available, it will allow me to incorporate more opportunities to utilize technology to individualize and target instruction in my small group activities while keeping them engaged in their learning. That will allow me to have four available at all times and to be able to provide more opportunities for practice. For example, we use IXL to practice math and language arts skill. By having four iPads available, targeting individual skills will become much easier and less stressful for students.
