Students choose a comfortable floor chair and use their bookmarks to track their reading and apply strategies we've been practicing, such as identifying key details and stopping to reflect on the text. One special moment was seeing students who usually struggle to stay focused settle in, get comfortable, and remain engaged for an entire reading block.\r\n The students were thrilled when they saw the floor chairs and bookmarks. Many immediately asked if they could use them right away. They loved picking out a chair and were excited to have bookmarks they could keep with their books. The new seating made reading feel more inviting, and students were eager to dive into their stories.\r\n Next, students will continue using the floor chairs during independent reading and literacy centers to build stamina and comprehension. The bookmarks will support upcoming lessons focused on reading goals, tracking progress, and reflecting on what they've read. The children are truly enjoying their experience in Typing Club with the new headphones and earbuds; they now have a choice between the two! The classroom is much quieter now and I am able to instruct without raising my voice over the 26 computers and voices in our small room. You could hear a pin drop! When unwrapping the box students were amazed at the \"newness\" of the nicely packaged items and one even exclaimed, \"It's Christmas!!!!!\" Each computer now has an assigned headphone that stays with the computer itself so students only have to come in, sit down and get started. If students want the earbuds they know they can find them in the pouch by my desk.
