The students and myself greatly appreciate the generosity. We have almost finished our first two weeks of school and have already used many items. From the fresh new posters of the math facts on the walls to the dice they each got to use in small group time learning has occurred. During our math classes so far we have reviewed addition with the dice and made groups of ten with little dots of playdough to represent regrouping. \r\nA few of the students did not bring supplies from home to start the year, I was able to make them a school box with the pencils, head phones, markers, and scissors before they even had a chance to feel left out or uncomfortable about not having the same things as the other kids did for their desk. \r\nAlexa has been a great enjoyment for the kids, she helps us tell time, gives us the daily weather to add to our monthly line graph, sets timers for us to leave on time to go to PE, and plays calm music while we read. \r\nThese items have made a big difference in my ability to teach effectively and provide the kids with hands on items to enhance their learning.
