Because of this project, each of my 6th grade students received their own copy of Survive Middle School as a special gift on the last day of school. It was the perfect send-off as they prepare to enter 7th grade. The book is fun, relatable, and full of advice that helped ease their nerves about starting middle school.\r\n\r\nIn class, we focus on making connections through reading—both with the text and with each other. This book helped extend that learning beyond the school year. Even some of my more reluctant readers were excited to take it home and start reading over the summer. It gave them something meaningful to hold onto during this big transition.\r\n\r\nThank you again for making this moment possible.
