For my students, opening new materials feels like magic, and they couldn't wait to use the colorful bricks. The large baseplates were an instant hit because they give little hands a solid place to snap their bricks together without their creations tipping over.\r\n\r\nHaving these resources has made a huge difference in how my young learners explore early STEM concepts and practice fine motor skills. Recently, we used the baseplates for a \"Tallest Tower Challenge.\" Students worked in pairs to build towers that could stand up on their plates without falling. Watching them snap bricks onto the plates, count how many studs wide their base was, and figure out how to make their towers wider at the bottom so they wouldn't fall was incredible.\r\n\r\nNext, we will be using our Legos and baseplates to learn about shapes, patterns, and storytelling! Students will snap bricks onto their plates to build patterns, construct simple letters and numbers, and build mini-neighborhoods to go along with our read-aloud storybooks. Your generosity has brought so much hands-on joy into our classroom, helping my students fall in love with learning from the very start.
