Previously, my students struggled to grasp the tactile nature of crochet through video tutorials alone; the pace was often too fast, and the digital barrier hindered their progress. Since introducing the printed books, the learning environment has become significantly more stable and serene. Being \"unplugged\" from their devices has allowed students to remain grounded and present, replacing the frantic energy of screen-based learning with a focused, calming atmosphere.\r\n\r\nThe impact on their skill development and social interaction has been profound. With these physical resources, students have not only learned faster but have also become more collaborative, engaging in meaningful conversations and troubleshooting techniques together. This shift toward print has particularly benefited my students with ADHD, providing them with a tangible focal point that helps regulate their energy and improve concentration. Remarkably, while every student still has the option to use their Chromebooks for digital tutorials, not a single one has chosen to open their computer, preferring the clarity and consistency of the books.\r\n\r\nBeyond the immediate joy of crafting, these materials have introduced essential academic benefits. By learning to decipher printed patterns, students are building foundational literacy and comprehension skills while sharpening their ability to solve complex problems. They aren't just mimicking movements on a screen anymore; they are truly learning the language of crochet. Seeing them so happy, engaged, and empowered as independent learners has made this resource an invaluable addition to our workspace.","fullyFundedDate":1765623208724,"projectUrl":"project/hooked-irl-in-real-life/9900423/","projectTitle":"Hooked IRL - In Real Life","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Baker","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5122997_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y316&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753103602059","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5122997"},{"teacherId":10238296,"projectId":9675565,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donations.
