As you can see, they are significantly slimmer with the over-ear design. During our labs, I have spent noticibly less time reminding students to wear their goggles, which was the intended goal! They work easily with a variety of headgear and hair styles, are less restrictive against the face, and all fit on just one or two rows of my cabinet as you can see in the picture.\r\n\r\nWe do a lot of labs in chemistry class. Another picture shows the culminating procedure designed by one group that built on the four prior labs of our last unit to design their own self-heating pack. We also received pads, toothpaste with toothbrushes, and deodorant for the students. We have a hygiene cart that we are able to maintain because of generous donors, and it includes everything that students need to feel clean, fresh, and secure.\r\n\r\nAs teachers, we build relationships with our students by providing for their physical and social needs, as well as their academic needs. Generous donors allow us to keep a stock of these important hygiene items, like toothpaste, pads, deodorant, lotions, chap stick, and hand sanitizer. This will always be an important part of my mission as a teacher - to make my students feel comfortable in class and supported in all aspects of their life. Students are always excited to choose their own snack or drink, and it often serves to spike their motivation and energy levels.\r\n\r\nWe are beginning a new unit next week and the third quarter is a typically difficult time of the school year. I am hoping for continued support for my new project as I restock some hygiene supplies and refresh my fidget collection. We now have two large graphs and can engage students in activities where they work as a team to complete a systems of equations problem or figure out the point of intersection.
