Your donation has helped us provide students with resources that are already being put to use throughout our program. The new strings have allowed us to keep our classroom guitarrones, guitars, and vihuelas properly equipped with quality strings so that students can spend more time learning, practicing, and making music together. Having these materials readily available makes a tremendous difference in keeping our instruments playable and our students actively engaged.\r\n\r\nOne of the most exciting additions has been our classroom headphones, which have helped me develop a listening station for students. At the station, students can travel back in time and experience music through CDs and cassette tapes. In a world where music is often streamed instantly or heard in short clips, this allows students to slow down, be present, and intentionally listen to an entire song or recording. They have been excited to explore the different formats and discover music in a way that many of them have never experienced before. The binders are also helping students keep their sheet music and classroom materials organized as we build our repertoire throughout the school year.\r\n\r\nAs we continue through the year, students will use these resources to strengthen their musicianship, listening skills, organization, and music appreciation. Our instrumental students will continue developing their technique and preparing new repertoire, while the listening station will give students across grade levels another way to explore music, artists, instruments, and musical traditions. Thank you for giving our students the tools to explore music in so many different ways and for investing in the continued growth of our music program.","fullyFundedDate":1770228155957,"projectUrl":"project/hear-the-music-feel-the-beat-equipping/9797656/","projectTitle":"Hear the Music, Feel the Beat: Equipping Students for Success","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Oz","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2417385_orig.jpg?crop=720,720,x108,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1600405670522","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mr-oz"},{"teacherId":2417385,"projectId":9183795,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generosity and willingness to support the students in our school community here in Chicago. Your kindness means more than ever during this challenging time. Many of our families are dealing with heightened stress due to ICE and immigration activity, and as a result, some students are feeling overwhelmed and even scared to come to school.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, we're able to create a more welcoming and joyful environment for our students—a place where they can feel safe, express themselves, and look forward to learning.\r\n\r\nAlthough the seatback pockets were a bit small for our music classroom chairs, we've found creative ways to use them for storing drumsticks, rosin, and other small musical items. The cushions have been a huge hit—students love using them for floor activities, and they've added so much flexibility to our space. The classroom tuners have also been incredibly helpful, allowing me to efficiently teach students how to tune their instruments and make the most of our time together.\r\n\r\nThanks to you, our students can experience the joy of music during a time when they need a positive outlet the most. Your support is helping us provide not just supplies, but moments of joy, creativity, and comfort.","fullyFundedDate":1752586551148,"projectUrl":"project/making-music-matters/9183795/","projectTitle":"Making Music Matters","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Oz","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2417385_orig.jpg?crop=720,720,x108,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1600405670522","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mr-oz"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_102085","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":528,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":88,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":98,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":0,"gradesServed":"K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":77.4,"schoolId":102085,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Acero Charter School - Jovita Idar Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Acero Charter School - Jovita Idar Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/illinois/chicago-public-school-district-299/uno-soccer-academy/102085"}
