We had an incomplete set of the Monarch readers that only went up to level 5. Thanks to you we now have a complete set that goes until level 9 in the reading remediation pathway. This allows our students to practice decoding and comprehension skills immediately after a lesson on systematic and explicit phonics instruction. The beautiful authentic texts are more enticing than the average decodable reader and since they were developed by the intervention program we use, they align seamlessly with our weekly phonics lessons. They provide an immediate boost of confidence to our struggling readers and make our classroom accessible to all learners. The book selections included poetry, chapter books, picture books, and informational texts on history and science.
