Many of my current centers were not age appropriate for three and four year olds. So, when I saw these foam building blocks, I was very excited and thought they might be something the kids would enjoy.\r\nI am so very happy to have this new magnetic foam building set for my STEAM centers. While it has taken me a bit of time to implement the centers into rotation with my preschoolers, I am finding that this particular center is definitely a fan favorite. They are able to count up and back by sliding the animal to add or subtract.\r\n\r\nThe word memory matching cards are fun. They are leveled for Kindergarten, 1st grade, and second grade. I'm able to use them based on the reading levels of my students. The students enjoy finding and reading the matching word cards. I have to say their favorite item is the little stuffed animal assortment. We added them to our treasure box. The story also brought in lessons about empathy, resilience, and how humans interact with nature and technology. Students learned to think deeply about how the main character (Roz) adapted, solved problems, and built community, which connected directly to the social-emotional learning we emphasized in class.\r\n\r\nDuring our reading block, students gathered with their own copy of The Wild Robot, which allowed everyone to follow along and engage more actively. We read aloud as a class, paused to discuss predictions or character motivations, and then broke into small groups where students shared their ideas and asked each other questions. Reading looked interactive and alive—students annotated, sketched scenes, and connected the text to their own experiences, which made the book feel meaningful and personal for them.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who were previously reluctant readers were drawn into this story because of the combination of adventure, animals, and the robot's journey to belong. One student who often struggled with staying engaged raised her hand excitedly to share predictions about Roz's next challenge. Another student who loved building with Legos connected deeply with the idea of a robot learning about friendship and nature. These moments showed how this set of books sparked joy and curiosity for students across different interests.","fullyFundedDate":1746627588555,"projectUrl":"project/help-bring-the-wild-robot-to-our-classro/9141564/","projectTitle":"Help Bring The Wild Robot to Our Classroom!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Imtiaz","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8970397_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1689364977713","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8970397"},{"teacherId":6850495,"projectId":9204382,"letterContent":"Thank you for your support to my project.
