They were thrilled to have their own individual books! Our Somos O.N.E. boys are usually good at reading, but have plenty of room to grow when it comes to developing self-checking habits independently. When they first received the 7 Habits of the Highly Effective Teenagers, they laughed! We had work to do and were ready to get started. In our first meetings, we discussed the importance of habits and building skills to support them as students progress to upper grades and then High School. Our boys are excited about having their own individual books, working on healthy habits, and developing the skills/strategies needed to become positive members of our community. Thank you for helping us make this happen!\r\n\r\nAs our students began to pass out materials to their peers, they had the most amazing, cute faces that just radiated joy when they realized they would have a copy of their own 7 Habits book!\r\n\r\nWhen we had our first couple of meetings with our group, we began reading and making connections to our own lives and experiences, as well as how we can work together to become better students, positive role models for younger students, and better individuals in society for our families and communities. Our students in S.O.M.O.S. have really enjoyed applying different ideas from the 7 Habits books into their daily lives. \r\n\r\nThank you for all your donations.
