All of our students love participating in any type of heart racing, sweat dripping, blood rushing physical activity! Namaste students are the most active students around! They love morning recess, P.E., movement breaks, after school athletic leagues, and so much more. Each day, all students receive 80 PLUS minutes of physical activity. 90% of the student population are Hispanic and African American, low income students. There are very few resources in our neighborhood that offer free to reduced physical activity for youth. We never deny a student the right to be physically active because of this. At Namaste, we believe that healthy children create better learners. According to the CDC, regular physical activity helps reduce the risk of developing obesity and chronic diseases. Physical activity may help improve students’ academic performance, including: academic achievement and grades, academic behavior, and allows for students to concentrate in the classroom!
